SHERMAN - After 18 months in the making, Austin College's new IDEA Center is open. The new 103,000-sf facility was the college’s most ambitious and expensive project — totaling $38 million.
The facility houses the college's science and technology classes with 16 classrooms, 32 labs, a 108-seat auditorium and an observatory. The departments of biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental studies, mathematics, and physics will be located in the building.
The IDEA Center replaces the Moody Science Center, which was the science building for nearly 50 years.
