DALLAS-FORT WORTH - North Texas’ home foreclosure filings are about 45 percent lower than they were at this time last year. If current trends continue, foreclosure postings for DFW this year will be the lowest in almost a decade.
Only about 2,000 DFW homes are scheduled for forced sale by lenders at next month’s property auctions, according to Foreclosure Listing Service.
That’s about a third of the monthly foreclosure posting volume the four-county area saw during the worst of the recession in 2009 and 2010.
Through the first ten months of 2013, lenders have posted almost 25,000 DFW homes for foreclosure sale — a 40 percent drop from the same period in 2012.
