HOUSTON – Bill Gates’ private investment arm, Cascade Investment, has scooped up the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Houston.
The Four Seasons, at 1300 Lamar St., has 404 rooms and suites, ranking it No. 16 among the largest Houston-area hotels, according to the Houston Business Journal. The AAA Five-Diamond hotel also has 64 rental apartments.
Toronto-based Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts — which is jointly owned by Cascade Investment, Kingdom Holding Co. and Triples Holdings — will continue to manage the property, which opened in 1982.
The seller, Maritz, Wolff & Co., had owned the property since 2000.
