SAN ANTONIO – The Briscoe Western Art Museum, located on the historic River Walk, will open its doors to the public on October 26. The three-story main museum building stretches nearly 38,000 sf. The museum is located at 210 W. Market St. Estimated construction cost was $11 million.

The museum comprises two buildings and an expansive courtyard and sculpture garden. It occupies the historic and architecturally significant former San Antonio Central Library built in 1930.

"The Briscoe Museum will introduce a new era of the arts for San Antonio and beyond, as the museum continues to build upon the region’s extensive creative and cultural offerings," said Debbie Montford, chairman of the museum’s board of directors.
