SAN MARCOS - The West Campus Housing Complex is currently on track to open in fall 2014 on Texas State University's campus. The $60.4 million dorm project is a 578-bed, six-story housing complex.
The complex will be similar to the layout of the North Campus Housing Complex with two buildings separated by a public lobby. The dorms will be suite-style with living rooms, kitchens, study spaces and a lounge area on each floor.
The University will hire 20 resident assistants to cover the 578 additional students who will be housed in the complex.
The new hall location is at the site cleared upon demolition of the University Performing Arts Center. The building of the new housing complex is a response to the enrollment growth at Texas State.
