HOUSTON - Mid-Main, located at Main St. and Holman, will break ground early in 2014. The mixed-use development intends to bring new flair to a historic neighborhood in Midtown that once housed the iconic Alley Theater.

The project's developer, RHS Interests Inc., said the project includes 29,413 sf of new retail space while also incorporating the existing 10,000 sf of retail, which is presently fully leased.

There will be a multifamily component to the project that calls for 363 units, dubbed the Lofts of Mid Main. Completion is slated for mid- to late-2015.

Mid-Main will also be integrated with the new Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston, or MATCH, development in that it will likely share a 773-space parking garage.

While MATCH's design plans are still inching toward finalization, the developer’s preliminary plans include a 59,000-sf, 350-seat theater; more than 6,000 sf of office space; a central public breezeway that can be used for performances and exhibits; and a coffee and wine bar.
