Bell County rings as relocation destination
BELL COUNTY – Central Texas’ rapid growth shows no signs of slowing anytime soon, and Bell County is one of the top destinations for transplants.
With 849 new residents, Bell County was among the counties with the highest net inflows from out of state. Lee Peterson, president of the Temple Economic Development Corp., said that while the area may be going through some growing pains right now, the continued growth will have an overall positive effect.
Based on data collected from the National Association of Realtors and U-Haul, the Texas Association of Realtors released the 2013 Texas Relocation Report. Bell County was not the only area with a high inflow of new residents. Bexar County had the highest influx of new households in Texas in the past year with 5,601.
Other counties that experienced high-growth rates were Williamson County, which added 1,846 new households, and Montgomery County, which grew by 1,226 households.
The report found that Texas posted a net gain of 10,326 households.
