DALLAS - Whole Foods Market will open its Uptown Dallas store August 12 on the ground floor of an eight-story residential tower next to a trolley stop on McKinney Ave.
The 38,000-sf store has been in the works since 2012 and is Whole Foods’ first store in North Texas with customers living above it.
Whole Foods Market/Uptown will be the only local grocer in a vertically integrated mixed-use development.
Gables Residential has had a waiting list since September 2014 for the 222 apartments and 17 townhomes above Whole Foods. Rents range from $1,690 for a studio to $6,000 for a townhome or penthouse.
The first residents will move in in August and floors will be leased throughout the fall as the interiors are completed.
