AUSTIN – August passenger traffic was up 4.5 percent at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport compared to the same period last year. Total passenger traffic for August 2013 was 877,727.

The total number of enplanements was up 4 percent, or a total of 426,329. January though August 2013 enplanements totaled 3,325,392, up 5.5 percent.

Total passenger traffic for January through August year-to-date was 6,655,817, up 5.5 percent compared to January through August 2012.

August 2013 air cargo fell 5 percent compared to last year with a total of 13,167,719 pounds. August year-to-date air cargo totaled 103,292,587 pounds, up 0.8 percent compared to January through August 2012.

International air cargo totaled 6,696,561 pounds, up 13 percent. Federal Express carried 69.4 million pounds, up 3 percent; and United Parcel Service carried 19.5 million pounds, down 5.5 percent.
