TEXAS CITY - Construction on Texas City’s new Buc-ee’s that got underway in June is taking shape with walls and the roof, according to Jimmy Hayley, president of the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce. The
The 60,000-sf Texas City location has been touted as the largest Buc-ee's yet. It will have about 56 gas pumps and is expected to bring in about 5,000 customers a day.
Texas City's new Buc-ee's store is expected to employ about 150 people. When complete, the store will resemble Buc-ee's new location in Waller.
The Buc-ee's store will be adjacent to the Tanger Outlet Center, located at 5885 Gulf Fwy. Tanger is expected to start a second phase of construction in 2014.
