Take two: Kyle reels in theaters
KYLE – Two theaters are on schedule and expected to open in summer 2014 in Kyle. Schulman Theaters and Texas Cinema — the two companies planning the projects — include movie theater auditoriums, arcade games, bowling and a restaurant.
Schulman Theaters is constructing a 68,000-sf entertainment center near Kyle Pkwy. and I-35, in the Village of Kyle shopping center. Schulman Partners LTD received a $1.1 million tax incentive package for the project.
Texas Cinema is building a 75,000-sf project at Kyle Town Center near Kohler’s Crossing and I-35. The $13 million project will include 12 movie screens (regular and large formts), a two-story laser tag arena, an arcade, bowling alleys and a bar and restaurant.
For the City of Kyle — which had a population of 30,875 in 2012, according to the U.S. Census — the projects will be the first theaters in the community.
