Dr Pepper fizzles out in Spring, pops in Houston
HOUSTON – Dr Pepper Snapple Group will close its facility at 21500 Springwest Dr. in Spring, and consolidate operations into an existing facility at 2400 Holly Hall St. in Houston.
The Plano-based company expects the Spring facility will close in December 2013, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
The affected employees will all be offered either severance or continued employment in a comparable position at the Houston facility. At least 109 individuals will be offered continued employment, while at least three will not.
Dr Pepper Snapple Group employees about 19,000 people throughout North America and the Caribbean and reported revenue of about $6 billion in 2012. It operates 21 manufacturing and bottling facilities in North America and more than 100 warehouses and distribution centers.
