THE COLONY – An east-west portion of SH 121 that runs through The Colony has seen development start to take off.
- Nebraska Furniture Mart is already under construction at the Grandscape development, a 400-acre project that will include retail, restaurant and hotels.
The store is expected to be the country’s largest furniture store when it opens in early 2015. Nebraska Furniture Mart will attract between 6 million to 8 million visitors a year and the city’s sales tax revenue is expected to double.
The store will serve as the anchor tenant and developer of Grandscape, a $1.5 billion project along the Sam Rayburn Tollway between Spring Creek Pkwy. and Plano Pkwy.

Top Golf, a 65,000-sf, three-level golf entertainment complex, will open in early November at 3760 Blair Oaks, and Spec’s Wine, Spirits & Finer Foods opened on October 10. Top Golf will bring 450 jobs, of which 100 will be full-time positions.

Rooms To Go has also purchased property along the corridor at South Colony Blvd.
