Houston building permits Sept. 2013
HOUSTON – Building permits issued by the City of Houston totaled $5.69 billion for the 12 months ending September 2013, a 22.9 percent increase from the $4.62 billion during the 12 months ending September 2012.
Residential permits increased 32.3 percent from $1.61 billion in the 12 months ending September 2012 to $2.12 billion in the 12 months ending September 2013.
Nonresidential permits increased 17.9 percent from $3.02 billion in the 12 months ending September 2012 to $3.56 billion in the 12 months ending September 2013. The chart below compares totals for the month of September for 2013 and 2012.
Residential includes single-family homes, duplexes and apartments.
