FORT WORTH - A $600 million residential master-planned community is now underway in the Chisholm Trail Pkwy. corridor of Fort Worth that soon will be opened up by the new toll road.

Legacy Capital Co., along with Stratford Land Fund, acquired the 625-acre tract in January 2011.

The 12-year project will include 1,500 homes priced from $190,000 to the mid-$300,000s on 300 acres. A million sf of retail projects will be developed in the next five to ten years and several apartments are planned for the community.

The initial phase of homes is set to be complete in early 2015. The retail development, which could include a movie theater, grocery stores and big box retailers, is scheduled for completion in 2016.

A new elementary school will be located in the center of the project, which could be completed by early 2016.

When the 28-mile Chisholm Trail Pkwy. opens in the next eight months, it will make the commute to Fort Worth's central business district 12 minutes versus the current 40-minute commute without the toll road.
