Fairfield Career and Training opens 30,000-SF center
FAIRFIELD, FREESTONE COUNTY – The 30,000-sf Fairfield Career & Technical Training Center has opened its doors on Post Oak Rd. just north of Fairfield High School. The six building, 16-acre campus was purchased by the Fairfield Industrial Development Corporation (FIDC).
With the combined efforts of the City of Fairfield, Navarro College and Workforce Solutions of Waco, the facility provides an opportunity for skills training and economic development. High school students and adults from Leon, Teague and Fairfield began classes in August 2013.
The campus will expand to add two additional buildings and four more classrooms by January 2014 with the FIDC’s approval of a long-term agreement with Navarro College, according to Warren Davis, FIDC Chairman of the Board.
