Odessa REXtac: $680M expansion to bring 150 jobs
ODESSA – REXtac has announced a more than $680 million expansion that will result in the hiring of 150 full-time employees and hundreds of construction jobs over the next two years.
The petrochemical plant’s expansion will create a local market for natural gas liquids (NGLs) that oil and gas producers hunger for as they struggle with lacking infrastructure to bring the product to market in a profitable way. NGLs are components of natural gas that are separated from the gaseous state in the form of liquids.
“The ability to have Odessa become a focal point for petrochemical activity is just great news for the area and for the industry,” said Kirk Edwards, president of Las Colinas Energy partners.
