SEGUIN - TownePlace Suites by Marriott has broken ground on a 118-room, four story hotel near I-10 and the Hwy. 123 Bypass.
The $6.2 million structure will be located on a two-acre parcel near the intersection of Jay Rd. and Larkin Dr., adjacent to the existing Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
Amenities will include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and guest laundry facilities.
The hotel is expected to open in September 2014. The hotel will be operated by franchisee W.I. Realty Acquisition Corp. of Dallas.
Seguin Economic Development Corporation has been recruiting new businesses to Seguin, including Caterpillar and Rave Gear and the expansion of Continental Automotive.
