NORTH TEXAS – Kroger announced it will spend $150 million through 2015 to bolster its North Texas presence and will open five new stores and expand three others.

One Marketplace store is under construction on US 80 in Forney, east of Dallas. It will be Kroger’s sixth Marketplace store in North Texas.

The North Richland Hills store, slated to open in 2015, will be about 124,000 sf. Other stores expected to open in 2015 are in Lewisville, Bartonville and Granbury.

The new stores and expansions are expected to generate about 1,700 full- and part-time positions.
