Hutto slated for new Hampton Inn

HUTTO – A 72-room Hampton Inn and Suites is planned for construction at 327 Ed Schmidt Blvd. The proposed three-story, 45,012-sf hotel is estimated at $3 million, according to state filings.

Construction is planned to start in January 2014 and should finish in nine months.

The new hotel will be Hutto’s second, and is slated to be built just north of the city’s existing Holiday Inn Express. Rudra Corporation Inc., the development company, has owned the lot on Ed Schmidt Blvd. for the hotel since 2008.
