AUSTIN - IBM Corp. unveiled its new product design studio at its North Austin campus on Burnet Rd. The first phase of the design studio is about 25,000 sf while IBM will start construction in December on the remaining 25,000 sf.

The company has already hired 100 employees in 2013 and plans to hire an additional 150 employees each year for the next few years, according to Tod Freeman in IBM software communications. The goal is to have about 300–400 designers at the studio by the end of 2015.

The IBM Design Studio will focus on how software is designed, developed and consumed by companies internationally.
