ROSENBERG, FORT BEND COUNTY - Aldi will begin construction on a 650,000-sf distribution center and regional headquarters located along US Hwy. 90A, just west of Rude Rd. in spring 2014. The center is expected to bring 150 jobs with its completion in fall 2016.

An anticipated capital expenditure investment of more than $60 million to the local economy will come with the center, which will be valued at $44 million, with an additional $20 million in taxable inventory.

The Rosenberg City Council approved a 70 percent tax abatement on the building and equipment for ten years.

The city has entered into a public-private partnership with Fuller Realty Partners to develop the Rosenberg Business Park, a deed-restricted park that can hold manufacturing and distribution industries.

Infrastructure is in place. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2014. It should be completed by fall 2016. The 184-acre development is located less than half a mile from US 59.
