Austin ranks most expensive market in Texas
AUSTIN – Austin is the priciest home market in Texas, according to the Coldwell Banker Home Listing Report (HLR). The average list price for a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Austin is $304,585.
This number is way out in front of the next priciest market — Flower Mound, a Dallas suburb — where the average list price is $283,829.
The most affordable market in Texas is Glenn Heights, which is between Dallas and Waxahachie, with an average list price of $132,167. Other value markets are Palestine in East Texas, Mesquite and Garland near Dallas and Anthony near El Paso.
Overall, Texas ranked as the 12th most affordable state in the country. And yet, none of its cities made the most-affordable list.
