PALMHURST – H-E-B has opened its new 97,000-sf store at 120 E. Mile 3 Rd. The estimated cost of construction was $6 million, according to state filings. The store brought 235 new jobs to the area.

“We have the largest spice section in the state of Texas,” said Gracie Villarreal, H-E-B Palmhurst unit director. Additionally, the store pharmacy will feature a home delivery system within ten miles with orders of two prescriptions or more.

The store is powered 20 percent with solar energy and 80 percent electricity. “We’re looking at how we can help the consumer in this area,” said Villarreal.
