Nov. 14:Fort Hood Hiring Red, White and You! and so is Texas
FORT HOOD – Workforce Solutions of Central Texas will be on post on November 14, 2013 to connect veterans and their spouses with more than 50 employers.
Hiring Red, White and You! is a statewide initiative put on by the Texas Workforce Commission, 28 local workforce development boards and the Texas Veterans Commission. Together, the groups organize numerous job fairs that take place throughout the state. One will occur at the Fort Hood Community Center on Clear Creek Rd., Building 50012.
Last year’s events attracted more than 12,000 veterans and 1,400 employers and resulted in about 2,800 new hires, said Laura Ybarra, with Texas Workforce Commission.
“(Veterans) are a trained, ready to work workforce,” said Kimberly Patterson, Workforce Solutions of Central Texas business service manager. “They know about working as a team member. They know about being to work earlier.”
