TAMU-CC sets record military enrollment
CORPUS CHRISTI – A record number of active duty military, veterans, and their dependents are currently enrolled at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. A total of 1,009 students, nearly 10 percent of the University’s student population, are categorized as military.
This total includes students who are enrolled in the ROTC Islander Battalion, are active duty service members, veterans, or military dependents. For the past five years, the University has been designated as “Military Friendly School” for 2014 by G.I. Jobs magazine.
Colleges, universities and trade schools named as “Military Friendly” must rank in the top 15 percent of all colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide for efforts and results in recruiting and retaining military and veteran students to increase diversity among the student body, faculty, and staff.
The University is also leading the way for veterans through its eLine Military Nursing program (ELM), a one-of-a-kind program that gives college credit to members of the military and veterans for their medical experience in the service.
