PLANO - Encana could cut up to 239 workers as it prepares to close its Plano office, according to the WARN notice from the Texas Workforce Commission.

Some employees will be given the chance to transfer to Encana’s Denver office as the company restructures and consolidates. Of the 239 notified employees, those that aren’t transferred will be laid off on Jan. 9, according to the WARN notice.

Encana occupies a 12-story, 320,000-sf office building with a total of 375 employees in the Shops at Legacy development. The energy and production company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is cutting 20 percent of its workforce across North America.
