ALTON, HIDALGO COUNTY - Junior’s Supermarket, located at the corner of Alton Blvd. and Main Ave., has opened its doors and will create approximately 100 new jobs. The estimated cost of construction was $3.7 million, according to state filings.
Amenities of the new store include a restaurant and rental spaces that currently hold T-Mobile, Hello-Kitty merchandise shop, nail salon, jewelry store and IBC bank.
“This type of development is actually what we have been working so hard for,” said Mayor Salvador Vela. “Like a pebble in a still pond, this will create a ripple effect for the entire community.”
