AMARILLO - Amarillo’s economy continued on its steady course in October 2013. Higher retail sales, strong auto sales and whispers of a decent corn crop all added to the Leading index, according to the Amarillo National Bank.

Hotel-motel tax collections are up 12 percent from 2012, indicating a strong end to the summer travel season.

Hail related construction continues to boom representing half the total permits, which doubled from 12 months ago.
