AMARILLO - Coca-Cola Refreshments will relocate to a new 81,000-sf distribution center building situated on 9.8 acres at the CenterPort Business Park. The cost could reach $8.5 million and will be paid for with a half-cent sales tax.
Coca-Cola will leave its location on three-and-a-half city blocks south of Southeast Seventh Ave. and east of Buchanan St. and the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation will pay to demolish the old buildings.
The relocation will make way for construction of the proposed ballpark that is one element of the large downtown redevelopment project.
Once the proposed ballpark project is complete, the downtown property will be deeded to the City of Amarillo.
