HOUSTON - Building permits issued by the City of Houston totaled $5.99 billion for the 12 months ending October 2013, a 28.9 percent increase from the $4.64 billion during the 12 months ending October 2012.
Residential permits increased 32.3 percent and nonresidential permits increased 17.9 percent. Residential includes single-family homes, duplexes and apartments.
