Katy: KOBELCO shovels to 101,300-SF HQ

KATY – Kobelco Construction Machinery will break ground in December 2013 on its 101,300-sf North American headquarters. The company expects to occupy the building by September 2014, and begin its nine-year lease agreement.

The building will serve as the company’s new headquarters, training center and parts distribution location for all of the United States, Canada and Latin America. Currently Kobelco is located in a 68,000-sf space in north Houston

As of June 2013, Kobelco had about 35 employees in Houston. However, when the company opens the new facility, it plans to have close to 70 employees.
