AUSTIN - Two medical facilities are being built in Southwest Austin aiming to serve as one-stop-shops for patients. Premier Family Physicians is building Southwest Medical Village and Hughes Capital Management Inc. is constructing Waterleaf Medical Center.

The 80,000-sf Southwest Medical Village, located off William Cannon Dr., will house Premier Family Physicians staff and 20 specialty practices totaling 60 to 70 doctors. There will also be retail space for optometry and a pharmacy. The construction and finish out of the building is estimated at $10.5 million.

When completed, the six-building Waterleaf Medical Center will have more than 100,000 sf of combined space at the intersection of Davis Ln. and MoPac Expy. The first building will total 19,000 sf and open in early 2014. All of the space in the first building is committed.

The firm is signing leases on the second building — Waterleaf Medical Center West at 5301 Davis Lane — which will open later in 2014. The second building will also consist of 19,000 sf of medical office space.
