Rangers OK $4M in ballpark renovations
ARLINGTON – Rangers Ballpark is set to get renovations to its Diamond Club, and seating, lighting and escalators as part of a $4 million renovation. The renovations are part of a series of measures to improve the look and feel of the ballpark, which will be 20 years old next year.
Located in left field, the Diamond Club provides a place to eat, drink and watch the game indoors. It was converted to a season-ticket-holder-only club in the 2013 season. The club will get new paint, carpet and furniture.
This is the fourth year of ballpark improvements, which will also consist of replacing the outside seats in the upper suites with higher backs and padding, exterior lighting and escalator updates, and renovation and expansion of the suite kitchen on the club concourse.
The seats in the lower section were replaced last winter as a part of a $12 million project. That project included new home-plate seats, renovating and expanding the Capital One Club on the mezzanine level, a new merchandise store between home plate and first base, and the replacement of approximately 12,000 seats in the lower seating bowl with new seats that include higher backs.
