DALLAS – Construction has hit its stride as work continues on Methodist Dallas Medical Center’s six-story, 229,000-sf Charles A. Sammons Trauma and Critical Care Tower.

The $120 million project will expand the hospital’s emergency department tenfold and include new emergency and central sterile departments, expanded surgical services and additional critical care patient floors. The project also will allow for future vertical expansion of up to 12 stories.

In order to make space for the new tower, an existing office building sitting in the middle of the ambulance drive was demolished.

The project is on track to meet its September 2014 completion date.
