Longview assisted-living center opens; more coming
LONGVIEW – Fountainview Estates, an assisted-living facility located at 1408 Lago Trail., has begun moving residents in. The estimated cost of construction was $5.8 million, according to state filings.
Fountainview consists of 52 assisted-living units and 22 memory care apartments. Facility amenities include 24-hour nursing staff on-site, waterfront dining, a theater and an advanced wireless emergency system.
Arabella of Longview is being developed by Tyler-based Abby Development on the new extension of Hawkins Pkwy., east of Eastman Rd.
The 80-unit assisted-living and memory care facility is expected to open in spring 2014, the 20 independent living cottages will be ready for occupancy in February 2014 and a 132-unit independent-living apartment complex is expected to open by summer 2014.
Construction began in October 2013 on Parkview on Hollybrook, a development by McKinney-based Zerga Cos. The City of Longview issued two building permits for a combined $11.5 million for a one-story, 63-unit assisted-living and memory care facility and a 126-unit, three-story independent-living complex.
The facility will be located in the 600 block of Hollybrook Dr., between Longview Regional Medical Center and St. Mary’s Church.
