DALLAS-FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL ARIPORT – The oil and gas industry is one of the biggest drivers for new direct flights from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to the United Arab Emirates. The new flights will launch in 2014, according Etihad Airways, the airline operating the flights.

Etihad Airways will fly Boeing 777-200LR on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from DFW to Abu Dhabi starting December 2014. This marks the fifth U.S. destination for Etihad, the national airline of the UAE.

The planes will carry up to 237 passengers with first class suites and business class flatbed seats.

"The new service will also strengthen the deep commercial bilateral ties between the United Arab Emirates and the United States," said James Hogan, Etihad’s president and CEO.
