San Antonio home sales hit six-year high
SAN ANTONIO – Although gains in home sales in November were modest compared to previous months, the San Antonio real estate market hit a six-year high in total annual sales.
Last month, 1,634 homes sold in the San Antonio area, a 3.4 percent bump compared to the same period in 2012 when there were 1,580 sales, according to data from the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR).
In that period, 21,607 homes sold, a 17 percent jump from the 19,940 houses in 2012. The area’s median home price also rose to $172,100. That’s a 5.8 percent increase compared to the same time last year, when the median home price was $162,700.
The rise in home sales and prices makes it 25 consecutive months with an increase, said Steven Gragg, SABOR chairman. Housing inventory remains tight at 4.2 months.
