Fairway Pines III tees off in The Woodlands Resort
THE WOODLANDS – The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center’s first phase of the new Fairway Pines III structure has been topped out. The five-floor Fairway Pines III structure will house a new guest wing, with 184 more rooms and a 3,036-sf "living room" for a casual gathering space. The project also includes updating the 13,000-sf spa and fitness facility and building a new, free standing 120-seat steakhouse.
The existing space of The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center will also get a face-lift. The Howard Hughes Corp., owner of the resort, has dedicated $65 million to expand and redevelop the 38-year old center.
The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center located at 2301 North Millbend Dr. currently houses 440 guest rooms and 60,000 sf of meeting and event space, including a 13,500-sf grand ballroom, 33 meeting rooms, spa, fitness center and a water park.
Construction on the project is expected to be complete in late 2014.
