EDINBURG – The city’s November 2013 building permits saw a 23.6 percent year-to-date increase, according to the Edinburg building report. So far in 2013, the city has issued 7,487 permits compared to 7,331 during the same time in 2012.
The largest increases were in the issuance of commercial permits up by more than 38 percent followed by commercial alterations up 30.1 percent and new home permits up 14.2 percent.
“Edinburg has a lot of room for growth all over town. Right now, what we’re seeing is that businesses are choosing our busiest corridors that have the largest traffic counts like Trenton/I-69 Central and University Dr.,” said Mayor Richard H. Garcia.
