Edinburg Conference Center $2.5M upgrade set

EDINBURG – The Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance is undergoing $2.5 million in renovations, which began in November 2013. The center is located near the intersection of McColl and Dove.

The 38,000-sf conference center, which opened in 2011, features a 1,000-seat auditorium and four 80-seat multipurpose rooms.

Construction in Edinburg reached almost $119 million between January 2013 and November 2013, about $23 million more than during the same period in 2012.

“Our hotbeds have been by the university and by the hospital region, and these are natural funnels for retail development and commercial construction,” said Agustín García, of the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation.
