Apollo Cancer Hospital opens in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS – The Apollo Cancer Hospital and Emil J. Freireich Cancer Center, located at 9201 Pinecroft Dr., is open. Located in the former Sadler Clinic, which closed in 2010, the 50,000-sf, two-story Apollo Hospital is the only medical facility outside the Texas Medical Center that offers 24-hour chemotherapy and infusion therapy.

Renovations of the hospital cost $20 million.

In addition to its emergency room and inpatient and outpatient surgical suites, features of the include: a comprehensive breast center offering 3-D mammograms, a diagnostic center, two operating rooms, a radiation department, dialysis treatment, imaging and an on-site pharmacy.

The hospital initially will employ 50 medical professionals and support staff, but is expected to expand to more than 300 employees by the end of the first year.
