RED OAK, ELLIS COUNTY - The TSTC North Texas Center and Red Oak ISD has broken ground on the new Industrial Technology Center — a $10 million, 102,000-sf technical education facility.

The Industrial Technology Center is on schedule to be available for classes in fall 2014, according to TSTC officials. The building will include labs and classrooms for high voltage electrical systems, welding, diesel, and machining career training.

College classes began January 13 in the Red Oak Junior High Career and Technical Education building, preparing students for careers in computer systems and network administration, computer systems desktop support, computer systems cyber security, and computer aided drafting.

By summer 2014, additional training will prepare students for careers in HVAC, welding theory and industrial maintenance.
