HOUSTON - Mike Inselmann, former president of Metrostudy, recently gave his insight on the Houston economy.

Inselmann explained Houston is in a post-crisis economy and the outlook is robust. Interest rates are normalizing, although they still continue to encourage home sales. Furthermore, Houston will enjoy another year of success in real estate and job growth, with more than 35,000 new homes expected to be built in 2014.

The Greater Houston Partnership reported the metro-area forecast is predicting the creation of 69,800 jobs in 2014. Predicted to add more than 2.9 million payroll jobs this year, Houston will remain the frontrunner in the nation for job growth.

And, if the predictions about an increase in U.S. economic growth are accurate, the Houston-area economy will be stimulated more than anticipated.
