More growth on the books for Kilgore’s Synergy Park
KILGORE – The Kilgore Economic Development Corp. (KEDC) is preparing two different building sites for future development at Synergy Park — one 26-acre tract and another 38-acre tract.
The work aims to keep the value of the park — which has increased by nearly $100 million since 1990 — on the way up.
On the 38-acre tract, KEDC is considering erecting a speculative shell building to attract a potential tenant or tenants. The estimated value for the 80,000- to 100,000-sf building is $5 million to $8 million. Having buildings in place is attractive to businesses looking to locate or expand their operations, according to Amanda Nobles, KEDC executive director.
SCP Distributors LLC recently moved into a 20,000-sf suite in a 78,000-sf multitenant building at 2002 Synergy Blvd. SCP, a part of Pool Corp., provides the pool industry with a wide range of products.
SCP entered into an economic development agreement in which the company agreed to hire nine employees and invest $235,000 in finishing the lease space. The KEDC agreed to reimburse the company up to $75,000 over a five-year period. The project is expected to bring a total $17 million impact to the economy during a ten-year period.
