152,000-SF Katy Costco opens Feb. 6

KATY – Costco’s 151,596-sf store will open next week at the intersection of Grand Parkway and I-10. The new store will provide 200 jobs to the area.

Construction costs are estimated at $11.25 million, according to state filings.

The Katy location will offer a food court, gas station, tire center, hearing aid center, optical department, and pharmacy. It will carry approximately 4,000 different products.

In summer 2013, The Rancher reported that the City of Houston agreed to provide tax rebates of up to $1 million for Costco’s infrastructure expenses. The agreement swayed Costco towards the current location at Grand Parkway and I-10 over a possible spot in the Katy Mills Mall area.
