THE WOODLANDS – Texas Children’s Hospital has broken ground on its 548,000-sf facility. The facility is expected to open in 2017.

The facility will be built on a 22-acre lot near the existing St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital at I-45 and College Park Dr. The hospital’s facilities will include 24 emergency center rooms, 74 outpatient rooms, five radiology rooms, four operating rooms and initially 30 acute care beds, which could expand to up to 200 beds.

It will offer specialty pediatric care in areas including cancer, cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, diabetes and endocrinology, urology, sports medicine, gastroenterology and nutrition, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, allergy and immunology, dermatology, adolescent medicine and physician rehabilitation.
