DALLAS-FORT WORTH – DFW and Houston lead the country in single-family home construction for 2013. DFW ranked second nationally with 20,810 single-family home building permits.
The Houston area ranked first nationally, with 34,510 single-family home building permits. Houston was almost 20,000 permits ahead of Atlanta, which had the third most, with 14,800 permits.
Texas recorded almost 90,000 single-family home building permits last year, out of an estimated 621,000 nationwide starts.
