AUSTIN - Construction on University of Texas’ $334 million medical school will begin in March 2014. The University of Texas System’s Board of Regents approved the first phase of the construction plans, which will result in approximately 578,000 gross sf of new buildings.
The new medical school will be constructed in a new campus medical district of approximately 40 acres, bounded by Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., IH-35, 15th St. and Trinity St.
Construction is expected to be completed in June 2016. The project includes construction plans for a building for education and administration, a building for research and a medical office building.
