McKINNEY – Construction on a 106,000-sf indoor athletic center is set to begin February 10 at 7205 Eldorado Pkwy. The Plano Sports Authority plan includes Phase I, an 85,000-sf center, and 20,000 sf for a Phase II building expansion. Cost of construction is $9.7 million for Phase I.

 It will be built on roughly 11 acres of city-owned land at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park, south of Eldorado Pkwy. and east of Alma Rd.

The center will feature eight indoor multi-sport courts, a soccer field, a concourse area, concessions, and office and conference rooms. It will have areas for basketball, soccer and volleyball, and could be used for sports like lacrosse and field hockey.
